Linking beef farming and Scottish heritage the idea was dreamed up by the Royal Northern Countryside Initiative (RNCI). To help raise funds to provide our services to a greater number of children, the RNCI plans to raffle this very unique kilt with tickets costing £5.00. The kilt will be on regular display, starting its voyage at the Royal Northern Spring Show on February 28th and finishing at the Christmas Classic on November 27th.
The combination of an educational charity teaching children about where their food comes from and the prestigious Keith Kilt school has forged a one of a kind hair on hide kilt. This bespoke handmade kilt features Scottish tartan woven in Keith and boasts an extremely soft hair on hide beef skin as its front apron. With matching sporran and flashes, this beautiful one of a kind kilt is perfect for any patriot or ceilidh dancer.
The hide is removable so the kilt can be used for any occasion. The Kilt will be adjusted to fit the winner.
The garment was created by the team at the Keith Kilt and Textile Centre – formerly the Keith Kilt School established in 1994. They have trained hundreds of Kiltmakers over the years and are an SQA approved centre.
Special thanks is offered to Pittards Ltd for sourcing the hide and to Isla Brig Images, Keith for the Photography.
